Playoffs? You kiddin' me?

WHAT is your honest opinion about a potential playoff system vs the BCS, and if you could have a playoff, how would you do it?

i hate the BCS its BS if we keep the BCS then just add one more game or if anything have all conference champs play in a playoff and keep the bowls

Yeah, as an Auburn fan, I know first hand what the BCS can do. However, I enjoy bowl games...and I think playoffs would be awesome, but I don't think they're possible at the moment. The way you said would be the only way I would support it. Keep the bowl games, and have like an 8 team playoff. But still, the ROSE BOWL would mean practically nothing. The SUGAR BOWL. All theses historic bowls would lose meaning.

I would love to see a playoff system. I really don't think any bowl has any real meaning unless it's for a national title. and I agree, take the winner of every conference winner and stick them in a play off spot then take an extra 2-4 (in terms of record and schedule strength) teams to make it an 8 game playoff. Each playoff game will be at a current bowl stadium take the final 5 games and have 4 of them play in the traditional major bowls like Rose, Orange, what have you and the final 5th game (being the game to determine the national champion) and play it in which ever bowl was suppose to host the BSC title game that year

So basically you're saying take the top teams as determined by the BCS and put them in the playoffs?

not all of them.. take the conference champion of every conference and plug them into the playoff then take 2-4 more extra teams and either have them play each other to determine who else is going to join the playoff race, like a wildcard type deal or just plug them straight into system. That way you even if you don't win the conference you'll still have a slim chance to get in if you're win/lose ratio and strength of schedule is better than the rest

they dont mean anything now if you dont win a championship to me troy goes 11-1 and wins the new orleans bowl is the same thing if ohio st goes 11-1 goes to rose bowl and wins and no championship both are huge to both programs and means the same to them i know that sounds stupid but oh well
